Is my pottery dishwasher safe?

Yes! Fieldfinding ceramics are created with best practice standards and made to be quite sturdy and resistant to chips and cracks. However, as with any handmade item, treat it with some love.

Can I use it in the microwave?

That’s a yes too.

Are your glazes food safe?

All of the glazes on functional wares are deemed food-safe,  100% lead free, and mixed by hand in our studio. Occasionally there may be decorative items for sale on our website that are not suitable for food or beverage usage, in which case this will be clearly called out in the item description. Please always feel free to reach out with any questions at wendy@fieldfinding.com.

I’ve noticed some scratches on the surface of my plates and bowls. What do I do?

What you see is most likely metal traces from your cutlery rather than an actual scratch in the glaze. Bar Keeper’s friend should take that off.

Do you take custom orders?

Please reach out to me directly at wendy@fieldfinding.com and I will do my best to work with you.

I bought two of the same item and they don’t exactly match, is on a defect?

Since each fieldfinding piece is handcrafted, no two items are identical. While minimal, there are slight, and unavoidable variations due to the clay, glazes and firing techniques used. Our work is not mass produced, created in a factory or on an assembly line. Our pottery is one of a kind, and the variations are meant to be embraced and appreciated for their character. We hope you enjoy your new pottery as much as we enjoyed crafting it for you!
